“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with
great love.” ― Mother Teresa
I know the way a world can change instantly, and forever. During a trip in 2005, with my wife at the wheel, a patch of black ice took her from us. In an instant I was a single-father of our three children, Kate, Jake and Ike. In that instant I lost my best friend. I was in my early-40s; the children were young. Still, there is no right age for any of us to lose anyone.
In 2014, I purchased Pierre's Watertown Monuments to serve others who are walking the path I found myself on in 2005.
Capital City Monuments continues as a division of Watertown Monuments. We are affiliated with Sunburst Memorials, which brings to us its high standards and nearly a century of experience. We have access to their vast resources of limitless selection of the world's finest granite, endless selection of images and graphics, the latest tools technology provides, and the incredible skill and dedication of their artisans. Combining these resources produces unique and profoundly personal memorials. We serve many states, including: SD, ND, NE, MN IA,WI, and MI.
Capital City Monuments, formerly known as a branch of Watertown Monuments, was located on E Sioux Avenue. We've also been known as Pierre Memorials. Aside from the name change, we also moved to Pierre's historic downtown district on S. Pierre St.
